The women costumes refer to the brides or to the
elegance of the feasts. In the internal part, the costumes are composed
of a shirt (pittina) joined to a pair of big drawers finely embroidere
and decoreted, to the extremities, between the plaits, by delicate coulored
small ribbons.
The vest of the dress is shaped to the sides so it
improves the prosperous breast of the Sicilian women (sign of fertility).
It is embroidered with gold and silver hreads and it deals with the subject
of the plenty 8ears, flowers, etc...).
The large skirt in figured eloth or satin, curled to the sides, is partially
covered by an apron embroidered with th lace-pillow, it is called "fantali"
and it shows holy subjeets or fruits and birds.
The hair, closed to the uape by a "tupper"
(a kuot made witth the same hair) are covered by a little satin mantl that
shows embroidery in gold of the vest. This head-dress is useful to account
and to show better the woman's face.
